What: Modern Day AU where Marco barely survives a car crash.
[It felt like he'd been sleeping a long time, when Marco felt himself slip back into consciousness, but he didn't feel rested. No, the longer he was aware, the more pain throbbed into him. He felt like his head was full of water, thoughts murky and clouded. He felt like he couldn't open his eyes, and that everything would be so much easier if he just fell back to sleep. His body was so heavy, like led, like a weight had been laid on top of him so he couldn't move.]
[Still, he awoke with a gasp, and then a groan as he tried to move his wired jaw, struggling to remove his hand from beneath his covers to try and touch his face when his fuzzy vision saw the IV drip in his left arm. He was... in the hospital?]
